No, I have not noticed that as a problem, but I don't switch use the
console for much at all.
I would suggest compiling your own kernel with 'Magic Sysrq' turned on,
then using 'Alt-Sysrq-S', 'Alt-Sysrq-U', 'Alt-Sysrq-S', 'Alt-Sysrq-B' to
sync, remount all read only, sync and then reboot.
If that doesn't work, it's generally hard power cycle time anyway. :)
