GTK fonts in iceme

Hi - I'm running icewm on my ThinkPad but when I try to run iceme to configure
the icewm menus I get a GTK error saying that it can't find the Helvetica
font it wants to use. Other progs such as gtkfontsel seem to work fine and
iceme works on another Debian distro on the same machine - where do I start
looking?

The error message includes this:
File "/usr/share/iceme/IceMenuTree.py", line 7, in ?
NORMAL_FONT = load_font("-*-helvetica-medium-r-normal-*-12-*")
File "/usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/gtk-1.2/gtk.py", line 2729, in
load_font
return _gtk.gdk_font_load(font)
RuntimeError: couldn't load the font

In case it's relevant, the /etc/X11/XF86config-4 file has this section in:
Section "Files"
	FontPath "/usr/lib/X11/fonts/Type1"
	FontPath "/usr/lib/X11/fonts/CID"
	FontPath "/usr/lib/X11/fonts/Speedo"
	FontPath "/usr/lib/X11/fonts/misc"
	FontPath "/usr/lib/X11/fonts/cyrillic"
	FontPath "/usr/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi"
	FontPath "/usr/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi"
EndSection

The 100dpi fonts dir has lots of helv*.gz files.

What do I do now, O wise ones?

TIA, Peter
