oh, this was a misunderstanding then. i thought you were asking about
XVideo extensions.
and yes, now that you name it, i can remember using xv myself back in the
days.
you can download it from http://www.trilon.com/xv/downloads.html. the
reason why it is not in debian is, that it looks "non-free" to me on the
first sight. you might try xzgv, gimp, ee, eog instead.
