Re: X crashes if I'm idle

Hi Ivan,

Mobility 7500 Radeon? You will most surely need XFree 4.2.x, by now
finally available in in unstable (and testing? dunno). I've been using an
install from binaries from XFree86.org - running fine for months now.

uhm .. some OpenGL screensaver causing trouble with the Radeon, maybe?
Not sure - I just let my screens blank. =)

> - Can I set up X to go 'blank screen' for its screensaver?

man XF86Config:

Option "BlankTime" "time"
sets the inactivity timeout for the blanking phase
of the screensaver. time is in minutes. This is
equivalent to the Xserver's `-s' flag, and the
value can be changed at run-time with xset(1).
              Default: 10 minutes.

But this won't help as long as Gnome keeps thinking it should enable a
screensaver after 10 mins..

depends on wether you're a dog. ;)
