10GB sounds very much to me. My laptop has 10GB HD, in the beginning I
used 5GB for Win2000 (+Office 2000 Pro) and Linux each. Now I gave Linux
7GB and Windows 3GB (actually Windows space is more or less wasted any
way... only use it like once or twice a year). I'd say with 3-5GB for
Win2000 (especially without Office) your on the good side, as long as
you don't wont to store Multimedia stuff on that parition.

In the beginning I used Mandrake on my laptop and there was about 2G (of
5G) free all the time. It depends what you want to do with your linux
installation. If you want to build mozilla or ooffice from sources you
would certainly need more space ;-).
