Actually, I struggle with the same problem too, and currently it
seems to me, that parametr noatime in /etc/fstab for every hard
disk should help (see mount(1) for more info). Moreover, the
page http://bulmalug.net/body.phtml?nIdNoticia=1511 could help
too.
