In /etc/X11/XF86Config :

Section "Screen"

#       Device          "Generic Video Card" (commented out)
        Device          "Vesa"


change your 'Device' line in section 'Screen'

This works with :

Section "Device"
        Identifier      "Vesa"
        Driver          "vesa"
EndSection
