kernel 2.4.20 and pcmcia-source-3.1.33-6 is better. I still get an
occasional "spurious 8259A interrupt: IRQ7" but it is fairly rare.
I am not getting any eth0 errors on the screen. I started a copy
of a bunch of mp3's from one system to another and it seems to work
well. It is only running 10mbps/half duplex (old wire in this building).
The irq7 problem might be because it is excluded in config.opts. As
I mentioned before, it is old hardware...

uname -a will tell you your kernel verison. I compiled mine to fit the
laptop. It is a small laptop and it helps to throw out all the junk that
isn't needed.
