i had to install a sony vaio vx71p recently and had
a similar problem: most devices shared one irq and
many of them did not work.the whole thing was
solved when i installed the current acpi-patches for
the kernel. grab the source from:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=36832
