I pasted the output of lspci -vv. It seems similar to yours: It says: M6
LW, doesn't it? What do I do with this information? How do I know if I
use a X4.2 or a X4.1? How do I know which drivers are available?

I don't have a clue how to do that, but I will try. Is there any special
reasons, important things like acpi are not included in standard
kernels?
I've read that without ACPI my box will burn. This is the only reason I
want ACPI. I don't want any sophisticated ACPI, just protecting my
notebook from beeing fried. So I need the to patch the kernel for that?
Thanks very much for your help.
