Acer Aspire 1400LC & apm

hi there !

i bought an acer aspire 1400 lc notebook a few weeks ago but until now i wasn´t able to get apm work correctly on it.
the notebooks turns off when i shutdown but the gnome-battery-applet does not tell me how much battery is left.
it doesn´t even recognize that the notebook uses a battery. it always shows that the notebook is connectet to ac power.
i have compiled apm into kernel with the options rtc stores time in gmt and use real mode apm bios calls to power off.
i trier the option enable pm at boot time with no effect.
at system start the kernel says: apm: BIOS version 1.2 Flags 0x03 (Driver version 1.16)
/proc/apm says: 1.16 1.2 0x03 0x01 0xff 0x80 -1% -1 ?

does anyone has an idea whats wrong ?

thanks patrick
