Why not try the standard maestro3 driver that is part of the kernel? There were some changes to that code recently, which fixed an issue with it and the IrDA code - see a previous post on this very list just some weeks ago. My i8k has the exact same chip. I use 2.4.18 and sound is working great, even when using IrDA. (Now if I could only stop gpilotd from crashing... :) Cheers, fabbe
