Compaq Presario 1220: How to get rid of the <Fn> key?

Hi!

My Compaq Presario 1220 (Debian 2.2/potato, 2.2.19) core-dumps when I
accidentially hit <Fn 2-8>. As the <Fn> key is at the left-most
position usually occupied by the <Ctrl> key, this happens quite often
which is a shame. xev shows no output for <Fn>.

Any ideas how to get rid of the <Fn> key?
