But you may try a workaround, put a file let's say "card.conf"
in /etc/pcmcia which contains, e.g. (according to your card,
more information see PCMCIA-HOWTO, chapter "Unsupported Cards"):
card "CARD Name"
pciid 0xffff, 0xffff
bind "pcnet_cs"
Then restart PCMCIA `/etc/init.d/pcmcia restart'

PS: Maybe also an update to the latest PCMCIA-CS 3.1.31 helps, too.
