Ethernet PCMCIA Cardbus Card doesn't work

Hi,

I bought a Pcmcia-Lan-Card "Longshine CardBus Fast
Ethernet 10/100 LCS-8539TX" ( same as Abocom
FE2500MX). It works ok with WindowsXP (no flaming, I
have to use it). With Linux however, it recognizes
our 100mbps lan only as a 10mbps network and doesnt't
work at all. The LED on the card shows "100", but
syslog says
"eth0: 21143 10mbps sensed media."
and
"eth0: 21143 10baseT link beat good."

and I don't get a connection. I can ping myself, but
nobody else. I searched the net for the problem and
found a tip. When I do

ifconfig eth0 promisc

it works somehow. Although it feels a bit sluggish
compared to Windows, and often it takes a long time
before a connection to a website is made, which
otherwise appears instantly.

Some questions:

Is there a fix or workaround which doesn't require to
set the card in promiscous mode to make it work with
linux? Or any other tip to make it work more reliable?

Is the tulip driver "tulip_cb", which is loaded by the
cardmanager, the right one?

What's the correct entry in /etc/pcmcia/config for the
card?
This?

card "Linksys EtherFast 10/100"
  manfid 0x13d1, 0xab08
  bind "tulip_cb"

Thanx a lot

   Peter
