Someone has tried to make Windows(TM) and forgot the kernel takes care of power. My biggest problem is that whenever I activate screensaving, the screen shuts off while I am actually working! If I continue to type and move the mouse, it then immediatly starts powing up again. Somehow KDE manages to overlook computer activity...
Anyway, I tried it. It didn't seem to help anything. But I haven't seen the same problems that you described. I'm waivering between looking around at a different WM, waiting for more new packages, or continuing to try to work this problem when I have no clue what I'm doing.
