try this mount command:

mount /dev/hdb /cdrom -t iso9660

assuming that /dev/hdb is the cdrom (it might be hdd or something
else); that you have the /cdrom directory on your file system (the
debian install created it on mine); and that cdrom support is compiled
into your kernel.
