I have been thru this.
You will need paride, plus two other drivers depending on the device your 
are trying to connect. Then you must run a shell script to write the 
special device files on your system. I will go find the FAQ I used. For 
you. Actually I think I posted it on this list earlier this year. I 
remember I got an e-mail in german as a reply. Still don't know what that 
one was about.
