w.r.t. hibernation, i had the same experience w/ a 770ed i used to
use.

i have not heard about that per se, but i have a vague recollection of
tpctl having an option for specifying where the hibernation
file/partition lived.  at the time it wasn't implemented yet, but this
was some time last year.  perhaps that has changed...
