Great! We need always help with man page translations, especially
because the previous manpages-es project has been abandoned already
fifteen years ago.

I'm one of the upstream developers of manpages-l10n and currently I'm
still busy with importing the outdated Spanish textual translations.
For the time being I only import the files from manpages-es, but after
I'm finished with them, I will also work on the files from
manpages-es-extra. My plans for the first release including the
Spanish files are to do this end this year; currently Debian doesn't
have a package manpages-es anymore, and probably it's better to have
an incomplete collection of Spanish man pages than nothing at all.
All .po files in po/es [1] are finished from my side, and you can
start immediately with updating them. Status pages are available from
[2], updated after each Git commit with a delay of half an hour.
Regarding the import itself, I've experience with such things because
I've already done this for Dutch, Italian and Romanian. Please let me
continue on this task and concentrate your effort on reviewing and
completing the already imported files.
To be able to commit changed .po files directly, please apply for
project membership [3]. But no worries, I can also commit your files.
For reviews you can use this mailing list, but keep always Alexis
Puente Montiel in CC, he is not subscribed here.
