And we (translation teams) are probably not too transparent to
maintainers on how to work with us. If you are new to the wonderful
translation world you might want to review the "General
recommendations for maintainers and translators" in the Developer's
Reference( (http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/developers-reference/best-pkging-practices.html#s6.5.2).
Christian and I wrote for our Debconf 2006 presentation (available at
http://people.debian.org/~jfs/debconf6/debian-i18n-l10n.pdf) as it
describes some of the processes both for translators and maintainers.

Since you are new to this process it would be good for you to review
the Developer's Reference with "new eyes" and suggest changes that
might help clarify the process. I, for one, see that there is no
reference in the guide on how to handle bugs associated with
translation and integrate with the team's process. Care to file a bug
against the guide with your own impressions?
