<p>The Debian Project and the Debian Italian community are pleased to announce
that the 5th edition of the Debian Italian community conference will take place
from the 17th to the 19th of September in Perugia, Italy. For the first time,
the conference has been organized in association with the
<a href="http://www.ubuntu-it.org/";>Italian Ubuntu community</a>,
joining efforts
with the traditional Italian Ubuntu Meeting. For the occasion the conference
has been renamed to <a href="http://deb.li/duccit10";><q>Italian Debian/Ubuntu
Community Conference</q></a> (DUCC-IT '10 for short) and will focus on bringing
together both communities and improving cross-distribution collaboration.
Users, contributors, and enthusiasts of Debian, Ubuntu, and any other
Debian-based distribution are invited to attend. The event will also be an
opportunity to celebrate the <a href="http://softwarefreedomday.org/";>annual
Software Freedom Day</a> in Italy, which will be co-located in the <a href="http://www.fsugitalia.org/eventi/doku.php?id=sfd:sfd10";>city of
Perugia</a>.</p>
<q>Das Debian-Projekt und die italienische Debian-Community freuen sich,
ankündigen zu dürfen, dass die fünfte Ausgabe der Debian Italien
Gemeinschaftskonferenz vom 17. bis 19. September in Perugia, Italien,
stattfinden wird. Zum ersten Mal wird die Konferenz gemeinsam mit der
<a href="http://www.ubuntu-it.org/";>Italienischen Ubuntu-Gemeinschaft</a>
abgehalten, zusammen mit dem traditionellen Italian Ubuntu Meeting. Deshalb
wird sie umbenannt in

<p>The conference will see the prominent participation of the current Debian
Project Leader, Stefano Zacchiroli, and some members of both <a href="http://women.debian.org/";>Debian-women</a> and <a href="http://ubuntu-women

of a wider collaboration scheme, and how we encourage a more heterogeneous and
balanced environment.</p>

new contributors, and practical sessions on Saturday, as well as social

<p>The Debian project is pleased to announce its presence at the
<a href="http://www.sfn.org/am2010/";>Society for Neuroscience meeting</a>
(SfN2010) that will take place November 13-17 in San Diego, USA. Debian
will present the upcoming release Debian 6.0 <q>Squeeze</q> and demonstrate
its utility as a robust and versatile research environment for
neuroscience. Booth visitors will have the opportunity to meet with
developers of neuroscience research software, and to get information on
available software and recommendations for deployment strategies in
research laboratories. Members of the <a href="http://neuro.debian.net";>NeuroDebian</a> team will be available to
discuss the advantages of integrating research software into the Debian
operating system.</p>
