Mhm, was ist "breaks"? Sieht wie eine Variable (eine kleine Abbruchschranke
wie 1E-9 für Test auf 0?) aus, aber ich kann den Quellcode nicht (so richtig)
lesen und "breaks do not span the range of x" verstehe ich jetzt gar nicht
mehr.
Auf dem Manpage bin ich fündig geworden:

either a vector or a matrix with two columns (depending on the dimension of
\code{x}),
assigning the division points of the axis, or the axes in the matrix case.
It must not include \code{Inf},\code{-Inf} or \code{NA}s, and it must span the
whole range of
the \code{x} points.

Vielleicht sollte ich »breaks« unübersetzt lassen, da es eine Variable ist.
Insgesamt wieder einmal sehr knifflig, selbst für einen Mathematiker wie
mich :-))
Der Quelltext verzichtet leider auch auf jegliche Kommentare. Auf der
Vielleicht werden ja Patches akzeptiert. Aber ich glaube dazu gab es schon
mal einige Äußerungen ...
Ich wüsste nicht, wie ich das im Patch anders formulieren sollte.
