<p>
<a href="http://debconf15.debconf.org/";>DebConf15</a>, which will be held
in Heidelberg, Germany, ran a logo
competition in May. After the votes were tallied, they are pleased to
<a href="http://lists.debconf.org/lurker/message/20140602.042106.6f42799c.en.html";>announce</a>
Valessio Brito as the winner with his submitted design.
The winning design plus ongoing work for print, web, etc optimization can be found on the
<a href="https://wiki.debconf.org/wiki/DebConf15/Artwork";>DebConf15 artwork page</a>.

<p>
Mike Gabriel from the MATE package team <a href="https://lists.debian.org/20140603113844.Horde.zKYk0_iwPq7s6PKFDuIMLg7@mail.das-netzwerkteam.de";>announced</a>
that MATE 1.8, a desktop environment, has fully arrived in Debian. MATE is a 
fork of what was previously the GNOME v2 desktop environment. MATE is available 
in unstable, testing, and wheezy-backports. Feel free to use and test via the 
meta-packages mate-desktop-environment and mate-desktop-environment-extras.

<toc-add-entry name="debian-ci">The Debian Continuous Integration project</toc-add-entry>

<p>
Antonio Terceiro wrote on his <a href="http://softwarelivre.org/terceiro/blog/an-introduction-to-the-debian-continuous-integration-project";>blog</a>
about how new versions of packages can potentially break some functionality in other
packages, and what can be done about it. He detailed the Debian Continuous
Integration project which checks inter-package dependencies across the entire
Debian archive. The origins of the project go back to the introduction of
the <a href="https://packages.debian.org/autopkgtest";>autopkgtest tool</a>,
which tests packages in their installed form, and was later adopted as the 
<a href="http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=autopkgtest/autopkgtest.git;a=blob_plain;f=doc/README.package-tests;hb=HEAD";>DEP-8 standard</a>.
The continuous integration tool, called
<a href="https://packages.debian.org/debci";>debci</a>, is run against the entire archive for 
packages that declare a test suite using the DEP-8 format. Debian CI runs at most four tests per day
and publishes its results at <a href="ci.debian.net">ci.debian.net</a> every 
hour along with a global status. With the introduction of Debian CI earlier
 this year there has been a rise in the number of packages with test suites.
 Maintainers are encouraged to use test suites in their packages and read the
 <a href="http://ci.debian.net/doc/";>documentation</a> about the system.

31 by Holger Levsen, reporting an upgrade issue discovered by

que MATE 1.8, un environnement de bureau, est maintenant complètement arrivé
dans Debian. MATE est un dérivé (<q>fork</q>) de ce qui était auparavant
l'environnement de bureau GNOME v2. MATE est disponible dans unstable, testing
et wheezy-backports. N'hésitez pas à l'utiliser et à le tester avec les
métapaquets mate-desktop-environment et mate-desktop-environment-extras.

comment de nouvelles versions de paquets peuvent éventuellement casser
certaines fonctionnalités d'autres paquets et ce qui peut être fait à ce sujet.
Il détaille le projet <q>Debian Continuous Integration (CI)</q> (projet
d'intégration continue de Debian) qui vérifie les
dépendances entre paquets dans la totalité de l'archive Debian. Aux
origines du projet, on trouve l'introduction de 
<a href="https://packages.debian.org/autopkgtest";>l'outil autopkgtest</a>
qui teste les paquets sous leur forme installée, et a ensuite été adopté sous
le nom de 
<a href="http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=autopkgtest/autopkgtest.git;a=blob_plain;f=doc/README.package-tests;hb=HEAD";>DEP-8 standard</a>. 
L'outil d'intégration continue, appelé
<a href="https://packages.debian.org/debci";>debci</a>, est exécuté sur toute l'archive pour 
les paquets qui annoncent une suite de tests utilisant le format DEP-8.
Debian CI exécute la plupart du temps 4 tests par jour et publie ses résultats
dans <a href="ci.debian.net">ci.debian.net</a> chaque 
heure avec un état global. Avec l'introduction de Debian CI plus tôt cette
année, il y a eu une croissance du nombre de paquets avec des suites de tests.
Les responsables de paquets sont encouragés à introduire des suites de tests
dans leurs paquets et à lire la
