Un petit essai, au café, le matin :

Si make-kpkg crée un paquet image, cette option s'arrange pour
transmettre aux scripts exécutés par les scripts du responsable de
paquet que cette image demande un initrd et que les scripts de
création de l'initrd ne doivent pas...

hook n'est pas important, imho.
