Je ne sais pas, mais pour les fichiers PO, tu peux utiliser msgconv :
  $ msgconv -t ISO-8859-15 fr.po > myfr.po
  $ acheck -t myfr.po
  $ msgconv -t UTF-8 myfr.po > fr.po
