I'd definitely keep the words "PAM" and "LDAP", but:
Description: Pluggable Authentication Module for LDAP
This package provides an interface between an LDAP server and the PAM
user authentication system. Using it along with libnss-ldap allows LDAP
to replace the entire /etc/passwd system, or alternatives such as NIS.
(Any other suggestions for "/etc/passwd system"? My version at
least doesn't imply that LDAP replaces /etc/ld.so.cache...)
