That would probably the best way. The 'common' user probably does not
use usb<>serial adapters at all, and even connecting an adapter to a
switch ot a serial console is usually not a problem... But it may result
in trouble, and therefore it is disabled by default.

I meant within the template. The problem is described in README.Debian,
though - but you can't read that before installing the package.
