I don't quite like this tone. However, there's not much point in discussing
this. I'm mostly concerned about it being available, even if it's not the
default for ca_FR or ca_IT.
In that regard, I agree to drop the changes in my second patch (those that
affect console-keymaps-at).
Christian, please could you discard this part, as Jordi proposes, and apply the
first patch only?

Yes. I've been using it for roughly 11 days, and I find it very practical.
Also recieved input from a few other people who are using it as well.
