it says:
Optional 64-bit Kernel via boot option "knoppix64", supporting systems with more
than 4GB of RAM and chroot to 64-bit installations for system rescue tasks (DVD
version only).
I never was conscious about knoppix64 option. It had been a long time here
since opening any Knoppix web page. I normally go straight to iso mirrors
when I need newer than I have. Either excessive familiarity with Knoppix help
screens made me miss it, or it isn't there. Oh yes, right. On CD it isn't
available. :-p
I just tried again with 7.0.4. $SUBJECT still happens. Hopefully I won't
forget about knoppix64 and needing DVD instead of CD when next I need chroot.
Well, if you want to use your own boot configs and do not want to use grub as I
suggested, then it appears that you have chosen a path that hardly anyone is
familiar with.
What you suggested is inconsistent with my strict no Grub on MBR policy for
multiboot systems: http://fm.no-ip.com/PC/install-doz-after.html
