PostgreSQL and German locale

Hello,

When I start PostgreSQL in Knoppix it starts with German local. Here
is a output of 'sudo /etc/init.d/postgresql-8.0 start' and psql
command.

psql: FATAL:  Datenbank »knoppix« existiert nicht

Does somebody know how to set default local to English? I am using
English edition of KNOPPIX_V5.3.1DVD-2008-03-26-EN.
