Can't find answer in cheatcodes
This CD works fine in several other systems.
Looking through cheatcodes.txt v5.0.1 I see no answer to solving that Knoppix
looks for the the CD on /dev/hda when the BIOS says otherwise. This is Asus
P5GD1-VM (ICH6), the SATA HD on the first port is treated by the BIOS as the
first ATA device, and the cdrom as a 3rd master. BIOS makes no explicit
mention of AHCI. Can 5.1.1 be made to boot without reconfiguring the PC BIOS?
If so, how? I tried unsuccessfully to use only PCI=BIOS, and don't see
anything else that makes sense to try. I get the hang in the same place with
knoppix testcd. I tried together pci=bios noapic acpi=off and got no further
than Tux and a disabling IRQ #5 message. :-(
