Two of these:
1. Remove the only occurence of "+kicker" in
/etc/X11/Xsession.d/xsession. This is acually (part of) the bugfix for
the upcoming update. It probably shouldn't have been there in he first
place, but without, kicker sometimes didn't even start on VERY slow
machines. If you save this change in your knoppix persistent image, it
will survive a reboot.
2. apt-get update
apt-get install -t unstable kicker
killall kicker
kicker &
Number 2 is only a temporary fix for the running session.
The easiest way to just AVOID the bug, thus keeping kicker happy, is by
not touching the switcher panel, and using the keyboard for switching
between Desktops, by Control-Alt-TAB (KDE) or Control-Alt-Arrow_Right
(beryl cube).
Some people will say there is even a more easy solution, just boot with
"desktop=gnome". ;-)
