You are right, PCI Cards work fine, I am using an ATI and an ELSA card right now, but even a modern 3D X-Winmanager will not work, nor do animation or simulation Software, or CAD. NVIDIA costs less than 40 Euro, so I do not see any sense in buying an old style PCI Card. I have to take the nvidia card, it works out of the box, but without acceleration:-((
