IBM Thinkpad T43: second hdd in cdrom bay extremely slow with Knoppix 5.0 ( and 4.02)
Hello,
I am booting successfully Knoppix 5.0 CEBIT edition on a Thinkpad T43
from the ISO located on the primary hdd (sata) using my minirt_usb5.gz

But the access to the 2nd hdd located in the cdrom bay is extremely
slow.
hdparm -t /dev/hdc ==> 3MB/Sec with 32 bits access enabled.
DMA cannot be enabled: hdparm -d1 /dev/hdc ==> error
If second hdd is on the system at boot time, Knoppix 5.0 boot
is also very slow and a lot of errors are reported during boot.
I was hoping that the kernel 2.6.15 of Knoppix 5.0 will fix that.
Any idea or suggestion ?
