Gimp is missing help files.
On various Knoppix distros Gimp is there but the help files are not. The help
files were once integrated with the Gimp tarball but the developers found
that it was too difficult to maintain that way so they separated them.
Instead they transferred the burden of figuring out how to install them to
the end user.
If someone can figure out how to install them for Knoppix that would be most
useful. The main documentation for Gimp, consisting of a book by Karin and
Olof Kylander, is many versions out of date. The other well-known book,
_Grokking the Gimp_ is dated 2000. So the help files are very, well,
helpful.
