This is from an old posting.
The problem I had (I had done tune2fs) was getting an initrd to work with the
knoppix supplied kernel. I still have not gotten this to work. Installed the
2.6 kernels and the initrds worked without any problems once I put:
ROOT="/dev/hdb1 ext3"
in my /etc/mkinitrd/mkinitrd.conf. ext3 and jbd are in modules.
