debian apt-get isn't designed for Knoppix running from CD. Additionally, klik can deliver software that isn't in debian, e. g. Windows apps (BibEdit for example, using Wine). Moreover, each softare package gets its own "isolated" directory which makes it easy to delete/upgrade.

apt-get and the debian file hierarchy are great for hd installed systems. klik is tailored to the live CD audience who has no knowledge of the system but just wants to use it.

Did you use KNOPPIX_V3.3-2003-11-14? All currently available klik packages are built for that release. (More to come.)
