Can you explain this, how is sudo not allowing access to whatever it is?

Are you using something other than the default user knoppix? edit
/etc/sudoers.

It needs to be legal!

A license which allows redistribution is required! I have called and sent
email to Macromedia and Real.com about including these items on our CD,
thus far they have not responded. One point that is really annoying about
Marcomedia is they have a license program setup on their website that
makes it easy to redistribute flash and shockwave in something like
Knoppix, except that they have excluded Linux!

Someone mentioned using konqerer with 2 windows for ftp. Mozilla can do
the news. Personally I'll stick with rsync and scp for file transfers.

Use Gnoppix then, or one other dervitives that suits your taste.

Can you be more specific?

I have installed a couple Gnome applications on our remastered CD and they
seem to be working fine.

My guess is a debian package dependency issue.

You want root and a GUI?

Why not open a terminal window and...
xhost +
su -c program
