The main problem is broken hardware. The Dell Optiplex seems to have a
LOT of problems related to power management.
But maybe you could send the PCI numbers of the graphics card, for
hardware autodetection?
Would a "cat /proc/pci" be the best method to do that?
No. lspci -n, but only the relevant entry for the graphics card in
question.
I'll be safe and give you "too much" than "not enough".
