[debian-knoppix] Gnome 2.2 on KNOPPIX, please

Hi,

Now GNOME is fully working on Debian unstable. Just install gnome-core package from unstable (apt-get install gnome-core/unstable) and you get worderful desktop environment on Debian. Please, include GNOME 2.2 on KNOPPIX. Including GNOME is better, than including Enlightenment (I don't say - E is bad thing, I only say - very few people are still using Enlightenment and there are no new versions for about 2 years).
If you have problems with GNOME or have no time I can help.

For GNOME 2.2 packages look at:
http://packages.debian.org/unstable/x11/gnome-core.html

Also I think some packages should be removed from knoppix. For example there are no need for some old xservers - xserver-vga16, xserver-s3v, xserver-mach64, xserver-3dlabs, xserver-i128, xserver-w32 and maybe some other ones of 3.3.6 version, because xserver-xfree86 is used instead (see /usr/share/doc/xserver-xfree86/Status.gz).

Btw, maybe you can add some harware (CPU and RAM) testing programs - they occupies only few KB on disk, but are very usefull (especially on CD, because running of these programs is not recomended from hard disk). See knoppix bugzilla, bug #19 - http://www.knoppix.net/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=19

Good luck,
Mantas
