[debian-knoppix] Problem with attempt to correct dependencies

Today I ran apt-get update/upgrade for the first time.
After getting assorted other programs installed, I tried to install the KScreensaver via apt-get install. Seemed pretty straightforward but there seems to be a problem with dpkg. After trying apt-get install dpkg, I was told that I have the most current package but that as there was a dependency problem, that problem was taken care of, (see below). However, whehn it tried to install the below (apparently needed for kscreensaver), the following error occured. I am very new to all of this, and I really have no clue what the error is trying to tell me, aside from that it seems to be wanting to install libxcursor-dev (extra) while downloading the same file again - thus writing over itself when it tries to install. I would appreciate any thoughts about how this can be fixed.

I am not so sure what libxcursor-dev IS, so am not sure if I can uninstall it via apt and then redownload it after a restart.

Thoughts????

Catherine
