[debian-knoppix] Bus error/Speicherzugriffsfehler

Hello,

I'm just using Knoppix (3.2 20030905 DE) to debug a machine that refuses
to boot into W2K :-). Just want to find out if it's a hardware problem or
a broken software installation...

Works like a charm, except:

root@0[knoppix]# /etc/init.d/ssh start
Starting OpenBSD Secure Shell server: sshd/etc/init.d/ssh: line 64: 6813
Speicherzugriffsfehler start-stop-daemon --start --quiet --pidfile
/var/run/sshd.pid --exec /usr/sbin/sshd

...and lots of these in dmesg:

cloop: error -3 uncompressing block 2130 65536/65536/22625/0
40753897-40776522

*) could this error (bus error, Speicherzugriffsfehler) be due to a
   defective CD-ROM?
*) is there a way to do an integrity check of the CD?

TIA

Alex
