Risking further disruption of the flow of this developer list...

YES! Where is it written?

<http://swpat.ffii.org/news/03/demo0827/index.en.html>

'On Aug 28th, the European Parliament postponed its vote on the proposed EU Software Patent Directive.'

The news seems to be trickling in elesewhere but IMHO nothing is still clear enough!

<http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/4/32614.html>

'Essentially, the European Commission is proposing to override the current European patent rules (which explicitly state that "mathematical methods, schemes and rules for mental activity, methods of doing business and programs for computers are not patentable inventions")'

I am sure there is more work to be done though.

jup, but we have time again. Maybe with latest changes we can even win MS against software patents!

Could we have any further vital actions (like the recent online demo) announced via this popular list too?

Best wishes,

Ramanan
