[debian-knoppix] init not found on startup?
hello to all!
we've been having problems booting our remastered knoppix version from
cd. the 'master' uncompressed partition boots ok from lilo, while when
running from cd it gives this output:
Accessing KNOPPIX CDROM at /dev/scd0...
Total memory found: 515828 kB
Creating /ramdisk (dynamic size=408080k) on /dev/shm...Done...
Creating directories and symlinks on ramdisk...cp: writing
'/etc/localtime': No space left on device
Done.
Starting init process.
Kernel panic: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel
the same also happens when booting the image on cd from a (newer) boot
image on a floppy. booting with knoppix init=/etc/init doesnt help
either... looks like linuxrc runs into some kind of trouble.
needless to say this frustrates us somewhat and now hopefully one of
you guys will have
an idea what could have gone wrong? that would be much appreciated!
