Re: [debian-knoppix] No write permission to ~/.ICEauthority
Have you tried:
chown -R username /home/username
chgrp -R username /home/username
This should return all permissions of your home directory to the user.
This would be the solution if somehow permissions to a /home directory were
changed.
Another idea -- as root, try to add a user, then log on as that user. That
should tell you if the problem is only with a specific user or all users.
