[debian-knoppix] Knoppix preferred to install "medical database"
It's called Open Infrastructure for Outcomes and can be used for any
research project:
http://www.txoutcome.org/
It's really only an interface to PostgreSQL and, knowing very little
about databases, I couldn't say if it does a better job than MySQL
Control Center for MySQL, for instance. But it does say the
"preferred way to install" is to use Knoppix.
I'm afraid pretending that Knoppix is a Live-CD only distro is getting
harder by the day.
Notice that the installation instruction are still the outdated ones
from:
http://www.freenet.org.nz/misc/knoppix-install.html .
Quote from the text on :
http://sourceforge.net/docman/display_doc.php?docid=16259&group_id=9295
This is now the preferred way to install OIO.
1. It takes far fewer steps than the previous method using Mandrake
and
2. It has the added advantage of giving us a Debian Gnu/Linux system
at the end.
