[debian-knoppix] Re: knx-hdinstall 0.35 update
Hi Christian,
I just tested your new hd knx-hdinstall script (it's present on
version 2002-12-10). Is there any reason why it always starts in
text-dialog mode? That is OK, since dialog apparently supports
mouseclicks in this version, even when in text mode. Maybe
we should just keep it that way. :-)
Just did an installation over the network, using the terminalserver,
which worked fine. The new progress bar feature is really nice!
Some things I noticed:
- The hdparm setting for DMA is not executed anywhere. This is a Debian
bug, but kind of sad because most harddisks are really slow without
DMA.
- Something is wrong with the fonts in X: They seem to have a different
DPI setting, and the locales settings for KDE lack euro support.
This is probably also a Debian (bug) standard.
- The root partition which was formatted as ext3 during install, is
mounted as ext2. I know we talked about this, I have no idea how to
fix it cirrently, except for Fabians idea with pivot_root.
