[debian-knoppix] Problem with set-gid w/ knoppix

Hi,

I noticed that the set-group-id-bit on directories is not honored by
knoppix (tried with version 2002/03/14 and later ones). Example:
As user knoppix:
  $ mkdir test
  $ chgrp games test
  $ chmod 2755 test
  $ touch test/foo
foo belongs to group knoppix and not to group games!

This works properly on debian woody 3.0 with the same kernel
(2.4.18). Has anyone got an idea why this doesn't work as it should?
