Severity: normal

This is another thinkcentre m78. I've had repeated (but not reliably
repeatable, unfortunately) crashes while running an amd64 kernel and
i386 userland. (#720432 is a similar problem on a similar machine).

despite the dump below, this report is actually about a crash that
never made it to the logs.

i'm attaching a screenshot of the backtrace from that crash, which
happened a dozen seconds into boot. an attempted transcription of
that backtrace is:

Call Trace:
 dup_mm+0x2fa/0x4a4
 copy_process+0x944/0x1071
 do_fork+0xe1/0x21c
 sys32_rt_sigaction+0xea/x180
 ia32_ptregs_common+0x25/0x4b
Code: [...]
RIP vma_prio_tree_add+0x7b/0xa0

The machine's RAM checks out fine via memtest86+. Any suggestions for
what i can do to provide better debugging?

Should i be trying kernels from backports, or any particular patches?

Hi

This bug was filed for a very old kernel or the bug is old itself
without resolution.

If you can reproduce it with

- the current version in unstable/testing
- the latest kernel from backports

please reopen the bug, see https://www.debian.org/Bugs/server-control
for details.

Regards,
Salvatore
